Cathie
Cathie and I arranged one of our occasional shoots, and like last time we had organised a model but unfortunately she cancelled 45 minutes before we were due to start. We just took a few of each other anyway using some of the ideas we had planned. Continue reading “Cathie”
Alice
I started York People Photography Meetup Group 2 years ago, but to expand it’s appeal I’ve evolved it into The York Photography Network and based very much on the 6 Towns Photographic Club that I went to in Stoke while I was there.
The last meetup of YPP was a studio shoot with Alice Wilson at York Photo Studio. Sandra and I had seen her performing at a music festival with her band at the time, Slack Habits, and I suggested we should ask her to model for us. Sandra has a knack for this sort of thing, and sure enough after the performance she asked her, she agreed and these pics are the result. Continue reading “Alice”
York Christmas Lights 2017 – with a difference!

A Walk in Hanley
Something I didn’t know about Stoke-on-Trent when I first started working here was that the city of Stoke-on-Trent and The Potteries are one and the same, and that the city of Stoke-on-Trent is actually made up of “The Six Towns” of Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Stoke, Fenton and Longton. Stoke is one of the six towns, but the city centre is actually in Hanley. Confused? I was! Especially with the roadsigns that say “City Centre (Hanley)”. Once one of the locals had explained, it all became clear. Continue reading “A Walk in Hanley”
